Buzz’s Wharf Restaurant – Give Back Wednesdays July 2011

During July 2011, Buzz’s Wharf Restaurant is graciously donating 10% of their food sales on every Wednesday of the month to HUI MALAMA LEARNING CENTER!  Support Hui Malama students by dining at BUZZ’S WHARF on July 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2011.  Coupon must be presented to receive 10% discount.


 

Bank of Hawaii Foundation Announces Three Nonprofits as 2011 Mike Lyons Maui Community Award Recipients

HONOLULU, HAWAII (May 20, 2011) – The Bank of Hawaii Foundation announced three Maui County nonprofits are the recipients of this year’s Bank of Hawaii Mike Lyons Maui Community Award. The total donation was increased this year to $25,000. Community Clinic of Maui, dba Malama I Ke Ola Helath Center received $5,000, and Hale Mahaolu Akahi, Inc. and Hui Malama Learning Center were each awarded $10,000. The checks were presented at a special reception held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on May 18.

 

 


 

Santa Baby Hard Rock Cafe Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Hui Malama Learning Center at the Santa Baby Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina, on Saturday, December 18, 2010.  The event was a huge success and we could not have done it without our community of supporters!  We would also like to send out a big MAHALO to the Hard Rock Cafe Maui for hosting us!  Check back for more fundraising announcements.  Mahalo!


 

Other Announcements

Hui Malama Learning Center is sponsoring the “Parent Project,” a free program designed for parents of strong-willed children. The series of 10 weekly sessions began September 20, 2010.  The classes will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays at the center located at 375 Mahalani St. The instructor will be Christine Haskins, who is certified to teach the program. She has presented the program on Maui for 11 years.  Parents can expect to learn skills and tools needed to influence and motivate children to change unwanted behavior, increase positive behavior and improve family relationships.  To enroll in the program, call Haskins at 298-5050. Child care will be available only for preregistered parents upon request.
